KATO'S SUPPER CLUB
Kato's Supper Club is a small business in the Thompson River Valley in British Columbia, offering speciality homemade dog food to local consumers on a subscription basis.

Goal: The client's dog, Kato, was the main inspiration for this project - creating a logo with sticker variations, as well as a business card in anticipation of the client's launch. The client wanted Kato drawn in a cartoon style, with inspiration drawing from classic characters such as Crash Bandicoot and Looney Tunes.

Execution: The first challenge in the execution of this project was an unexpected issue with the client's business name, leading to a last-minute name change that I participated in. Inspired by old-school supper clubs and the exclusive dining experience that comes along with them, we decided on Kato's Supper Club as a playful juxtaposition between Kato's exaggerated cartoon likeness and the high quality of the dog food being produced, with a nod to the recurring/subscription-based model. I kept the design in alignment with the brand identity: a classic aesthetic and palette borrowing from the style of old-school, checkered tablecloth resturants.
